Having developed fossil power plant simulators ranging from 60 MW to 500 MW for over a decade, I have recognized that foundational classroom training is essential before students transition to simulator training. Without a firm grasp of various systems and sub sub systems of a power plant  and their system-level interactions, the complexity of a simulator can be distracting. This course provides the necessary knowledge of basic processes to ensure students become confident operators and effective decision-makers in plant operation, maintenance, and emergency handling.
